Damage to wood flooring - determining the best drying method
When water losses occur customers often don't realize they have a problem until water starts seeping through their wood flooring. When this happens water can become trapped or bound between the wood flooring and the wood or concrete sub-floor. When there is bound or trapped water sometimes the only solution is to remove the wood flooring in the affected area. Once the flooring is removed the sub-floor underneath can be dried and prepared for flooring to be re-installed.
When possible and depending on the type of wood floor and sub-floor we can dry the flooring in place to minimize the repairs needed. If you've had water damage to your wood floors call SERVPRO of Gainesville and we can do an assessment of the damage to determine if drying will work or if the flooring needs to be removed.
