Reduce Mold Spores

Every building contains mold spores. The presence of spores is not a problem, but it can quickly become one if the environment is conducive to mold growth. From air filtration to carpet cleaning, there are four ways to lower the number of spores present in a commercial structure and prevent colonies from forming.

1. Keep the Premises Clean

Thoroughly cleaning the interior of a commercial structure can eliminate many spores. Regularly dust surfaces and use HEPA-certified vacuums. It is also a good idea to lay out mats by the door to prevent dirt and spores from getting tracked inside. Have carpets and upholstery professionally cleaned several times a year.

2. Change Filters and Clean Air Ducts

Change HVAC filters on a regular basis and consider using HEPA-certified replacement filters. Other than carpet cleaning, this is one of the best ways to stop spores from circulating through a structure. Mold may also form in the HVAC system, particularly in moist components such as condensate drip pans, AC coils, and in ductwork. 3. Run a HEPA Filtration System

4. Take Out the Trash

Encourage employees to discard food packaging into receptacles that are emptied on a regular basis. It is also a good idea to avoid leaving coffee cups around an office.
